Moms on Call and 3 important tips for getting your baby to sleep

3 min read

What is Moms On Call and how does it relate to Bumblebaby? As you may know, I am a certified independent sleep consultant for a company called Moms on Call. Moms on call is a feeding and sleep routine that promotes sleep and calorie intake during the day based on the age of the baby to promote nighttime sleep. Keep reading below to learn more!

Did you know that daytime sleep in infants is directly related to nighttime sleep?

That’s right!! That old myth of “keep them up during the day so they’ll sleep at night” is just that…a myth! In other words, the baby cannot possibly sleep well at night if they are overtired from not napping during the day.

This is why a sleep routine is essential for the baby

I cannot tell you how many times I have had clients come to me, losing hope, trying everything possible, babies who are diagnosed with reflux, colic, and milk protein sensitivity/allergy (see my blog post “everything you need to know about reflux“).

After implementing sleep routine and evaluating feedings + much more, baby’s symptoms are completely relieved. That’s right!! The colic, reflux, and MPA symptoms were mistaken for overtiredness and were completely reversed.

Why I became a sleep consultant

I became a moms on call fanatic with my first baby, Finn, who is now 3. I implemented moms on call with Finn around 7 weeks, and he was sleeping 12 hours STRAIGHT at night just a week later! I lived and breathed the moms on call method, and when my daughter arrived 17 months later, I got her right into a routine.

Moms on call even has a toddler+baby schedule that is a lifesaver for 2 under 2; having both kids nap at the same time every day. She slept through at just 6 weeks AND I get 2 hours a day to myself!!

I became determined to provide the best gift ever to new parents – the gift of sleep! Being a moms on call consultant has given me so much more than I could have ever imagined – it has truly fulfilled purpose for me. I love nothing more than to see struggling families, relationships, and overtired babies and families transform into well-rested and thriving units – it is truly inspiring!

When do you start Moms on Call?

MOC method and a sleep routine can be initiated as early as two weeks of age in a healthy newborn who is gaining weight. AND it’s NEVER too late to start!

**MOC does have a cry it out component to the method. This is something you should know before you start sleep consulting. Interval crying is used for babies under 12-16 weeks.

Interested in booking a sleep consultation with me? If you live in Chicago, I offer in-home sleep consultations. But if you don’t, don’t worry! I also offer virtual sleep consultations.

I suggest starting with a 15 minute video chat consultation to get familiar with Moms on Call and make sure it’s right for you and your family. We can move forward from there.
