Why we love the newton mattress for infants and toddlers

You’ve heard us rave about the Newton Mattress for infants due to its breathability. Did you know they released a toddler mattress as well? Read on to learn why Deema and Kate love the Newton Mattress.

Why is the Newton mattress so popular?

Breathability:

The Newton Mattress, both infant and toddler, are designed for the most breathability – both the mattress itself and the cover. As a parent, this is comforting to me knowing that even when my baby has their head face-planted into the mattress, I have the most breathable mattress on the market!

The quilted design of the mattress cover has a spacer fabric to maximize breathability as well. The design of the mattress is pliable yet firm with a patented Wovenaire technology as seen below:

The mattress is 90% air and 10% food grade polymer.

Newton Mattress is Washable

Because of the food grade polymer design, the Newton Mattress is 100% washable (think a shower or tub rinse) for all of those early day spit ups and blow outs! Simply throw the cover in the washing machine and rinse the inner mattress in the shower or tub. It dries quickly to be able to use as soon as possible.

Newton Mattress is Non-toxic and Allergen Friendly

The patented Wovenaire core of the Newton Mattress  is 90% air and 10% food-grade polymer. It provides the comfort of foam and is latex free. The ability to wash the actual mattress itself allows you to wash away dirt and allergens. None of the foam, latex, springs and glue common in other crib mattresses means no toxic chemicals or allergens!

Why Deema loves Newton:

Bringing a baby home from the NICU can be such a scary thing. I know I for one have been extremely diligent about the infant products that we are using with our youngest since his release from the NICU.

Let’s face it, babies really spend more time in their cribs than they do anywhere else! Which is why it is super important for us to use a mattress that is breathable and “clean”.

Our guy is what we call a “happy spitter upper” meaning he spits up quite a bit but is not bothered by it.

BUT he does spit up onto his mattress. Luckily the Newton crib mattress is washable so spit up is no longer such a point of contention!

My eldest two were “tummy” sleepers as soon as they could roll onto their bellies on their own. I’m going to assume that my youngest will be too! It’s such peace of mind knowing that I don’t have to worry about my baby being able to breathe safely on his belly once he is able to roll on his own due to the breathability of the Newton mattress.

Kate:

We loved using the Newton Infant Mattress for Royal and it was a top pick for items we used for her (read more here). I wanted to carry over the same feel for Roey when we eventually move to a big girl bed (thankfully we haven’t had to yet!).

I love that the Newton Toddler Mattress has the same clean, minimal ingredients as the infant mattress, while keeping safety at the forefront. The breathability of the Newton toddler mattress With potty training at night coming soon in our future, the ability to actually wash the mattress itself is key for our family. Simply popping it in the tub for a quick rinse away of anything unsanitary is all you need to do!

The transition to the Newton Toddler Mattress will be seamless since Ro is used to having the Newton infant Mattress. Comfort and familiarity is important when making big changes like transitioning to a toddler bed.
