Effective nasal suction with the NozeBot can help shorten your baby’s illness and relieve symptoms quickly. Read more on why we love the NozeBot (use code BUMBLEBABY).

It’s viral and allergy season!!! Cue alllll the snot for babies and toddlers!

As a NICU RN, the one hospital tool I miss the most is WALL SUCTION! When I found out about the NozeBot (use code BUMBLEBABY for 10% off the NozeBot or NozeBot bundle), which allows for hospital grade suction at home, I couldn’t wait to try it out. And let me tell you – my RN dreams came true!

Those blue suction bulbs and manual nasal aspirators, even smaller battery operated nasal aspirators, just don’t have the power needed for thick nasal or oral secretions. But the NozeBot (use code BUMBLEBABY) does!

How the NozeBot helps prevent illness

While we love the functionality of the NozeBot (use code BUMBLEBABY) (three suction speeds that you can cater to your little one’s needs, as well as being battery operated and portable – read more in my blog post here), I know how important it is as an RN and mama to prevent illness.

Plus, it’s just heartbreaking to see your little one sick! Because the NozeBot (use code BUMBLEBABY) is so effective, removing necessary secretions can actually help prevent illnesses such as sinus infections and ear infections, all while alleviating symptoms of an active infection. But how?

Think of it this way – our little ones either cannot blow their noses or cannot blow effectively enough to remove all the snot and boogers. This leaves all those nasal secretions and gunk stuck in their sinuses – which is quite literally the perfect breeding ground for infection.

These sinus passages naturally drain to the eyes and ears – so when the nasal sinuses are overloaded, this tends to end in an ear infection (and sometimes even an eye infection!). Even with effective electric nasal suctioning, your baby or child should still be seen by their provider.

Why effective nasal suction is important to prevent illness

What can we do as parents to prevent this? Effective nasal suction with the NozeBot! Clearing those thick nasal secretions will prevent them from moving to other areas and potentially prevent infection. Plus, it makes it easier for your baby or child to breathe, which in turn helps them sleep, rest, and recover (and you, too!).

Did you know that you can use the NozeBot (use code BUMBLEBABY) for oral secretions? Think coughing up all that junk! It can be hard for littler ones to clear the thick secretions in the back of their throat, but the Nozebot can help here as well.

We are serious about our love for the NozeBot (use code BUMBLEBABY for 10% off the NozeBot or NozeBot bundle) – and you should be too!

Here is how to suction to prevent illness and alleviate symptoms using the NozeBot:

*Check out our IG reel!

  1. Apply saline mist. We prefer the mist over the drops because its much easier and more accurate with wiggly littles. The saline solution loosens up the nasal secretions (boogers) to make it easier to suction everything out. Try to wait about 1 minute (if you can) before suctioning with the NozeBot after using the nasal saline mist.
  2. Assume the suctioning position! If your baby can still be swaddled, swaddle. If not, lay your little one down on the ground face up. Sit down next to them and place your legs over their shoulders. Use your legs to gently stabilize their head.
  3. Use the NozeBot (CODE BUMBLEBABY) – toggle the suction as needed.
  4. Plug the opposite nare for 1-2 seconds MAX to really get everything out! Switch sides. Repeat up to 3 times to make sure you don’t damage delicate tissue around your baby/child’s nose (this area is sensitive and vascular!).
  5. Repeat every 2-4 hours as needed!
  6. You can use the NozeBot for oral suction as well!
