ALL ABOUT NATALIE
Nursing background and certifications:
I took a roundabout way to get into my nursing career. My undergraduate degree is in Biology from James Madison University in VA. Once I decided I wanted to be a nurse, I moved west with my husband and I got my nursing degree at DePaul university (same as Kate!). While in school I got a nursing assistant job in the NICU and I never looked back! I love working with babies and their families so this was the perfect place for me! I am a breastfeeding counselor, BLS, NRP and PALS certified and will officially be a CPR instructor mid-April.
Mama + family background:
I am the oldest of six kids so I feel as though I have been taking care of babies my whole life! My husband and I had twin boys, Ashton and Beckett, in 2017 and another baby boy, Hudson, in May 2019. We recently moved to Libertyville, a northern suburb of Chicago, in November 2019 and finally have enough space for our 3 boys! Â I always wanted 4 kids but the twins gave my husband a run for his money so he is not interested in having any more đ
Why I am excited to start working for bumble.baby:
Kate has created such a supportive, honest and loving community for parents and especially moms. Motherhood can be so hard and I think the information and the messages she is spreading are so important in navigating this journey. I also love everything pregnancy, baby and children related and have such a passion for helping others so working at Bumble.baby I get to do both! Plus, who doesn’t want to work alongside one of their best friends?!
Services I will be offering (now serving the Northern Chicago Suburbs!):
- Breastfeeding counseling (in-home & virtual)
- Videochat consult (no sleep related questions)
- Bottle consultation
- CPR in-home & refresher (coming mid-April 2020)
Difficulties Iâve encountered in motherhood:
There are many challenges that all of us mothers face. It is arguably the biggest adjustment and transition in our lives. I would have to say my top five difficulties of motherhood are having twins (and everything that comes with that experience), exclusively pumping, two tongue ties, ridiculous lack of sleep and trying to balance my time between all of lifeâs demands.
My favorite part of motherhood:
Watching them meet different milestones and discover the world through such innocent eyes.
What I can’t live without as a mom:
As a mom, I canât live without coffee, my Boba wrap carrier and this dry shampoo!!
