You may see more and more foreign formulas entering your local stores. How do European formulas compare to US formulas? More and more, parents have become interested in feeding their babies with organic baby formula made with high quality ingredients. Let’s review bobbie formula!

Bobbie Formula Vs. Aptamil: Similarities & Differences

There has been more education around what is actually in the infant formula they are feeding their babies. Caregivers are looking for formulas that do not have palm oil or have corn syrup as the primary carbohydrate source for their infant formula.

We’re comparing Bobbie organic infant formula to Aptamil Infant formula for this very reason. There are similarities and differences between these infant formulas you’ll want to learn about in detail.

What You Need To Know about Infant Formula

Did you know that all infant formula must meet FDA standards? It’s reassuring to know that any formula labeled “infant” is safe for your baby and is regulated to meet your baby’s nutritional needs.

Due to recent formula recalls and shortages, foreign formulas from Europe and Australia are being imported. It’s important to note that US based infant formulas are FDA regulated, but not all EU formulas are. Contact your healthcare provider if you have questions.

Bobbie is made by a reputable infant formula manufacturer in Vermont and Ohio with over 35 years of experience. More than 2,000 rigorous quality checks are made to ensure ingredients, processing, and the finished product are safe and nutritious.

Significant strides have been made towards transparency and health-consciousness as this is the first-ever infant formula to receive both the Clean Label Project Purity Award and Pesticide Free certification. Bobbie does not contain palm oil or corn syrup.

Aptamil Infant Formula

Aptamil baby formula, produced by Nutricia factories as part of the Danone brand, has many years of research experience into early life science.

Aptamil has over 65 types of baby formula milk ranging from infant to toddler milk. Nutricia states that food quality and safety is a top priority which lead to a rebranding and the removal of palm oil from products, as well as changes to the levels of Nucleotides and Taurine in their products.

Aptamil has increased shipments of infant formula from Europe to address a shortage in the United States. With FDA approval, Aptamil products are allowed to be sold through November 2022 only.

What does this mean as a parent? It means that you may need to switch formula brands come November 2022.

Bobbie Organic Formula vs Aptamil Baby Formula

Let’s compare Bobbie and Aptamil baby formulas – ingredients, qualities, and cost:

Aptamil Vs. Bobbie Infant Formula

The Similarities:

Both Bobbie and Aptamil are lactose based formulas with intact proteins (meaning for babies who do not have a lactose intolerance/sensitivity).

Both formulas are non-GMO and have relatively similar fat blends. Aptatmil and Bobbie contain DHA in similar quantities, with slightly more per 100/calories with Aptamil. Iron content in both formulas is relatively the same as well, slightly higher in Bobbie.

The Differences:

The big difference is that Bobbie is organic while Aptamil is not. While the whey to casein ratio is similar, Bobbie remains at 60:40, which is similar to that of mature breast milk whereas Aptamil is 50:50.

Price:

Bobbie:$1.84/oz

Aptamil: $1.27/oz

Conclusion:

Bobbie and Aptamil are very similar formulas in ingredients. The biggest factor to consider is whether or not you want an organic formula for your baby. Since Aptamil is only being sold here as per the FDA until November 2022, it would be wise to consider this while choosing a formula for your baby as it may not be available soon.

If locally sourced ingredients, a whey:casein ratio that more closely mimic breast milk and a permanent FDA regulation status is important to your family, Bobbie makes for an excellent option for formula feeding or combination feeding parents and caregivers.

**This blog post is sponsored by Bobbie Infant Formula, however, it is my true and honest opinion. I am honored to be a partner for many reasons – I love the work they are doing to end formula feeding stigma and truly love their product for being easy on a baby’s tummy.
