Why bright color swimwear is important for your child’s safety

3 min read

Did you know you should avoid blue or aqua colored swimwear because they are harder to see in the water? We picked suits with bright colors so that your child can be easily spotted in the water!

Did you know?

Drowning is the number one cause of accidental death in the US for children between the ages of 1 and 4. We take water safety very seriously! Part of that safety is using bright colored swim wear for your child to be spotted easily in the water (both pool and open water). We also suggest having a PFD (life jacket) on your child at all times around water. Read more about which USCG approved life jackets we recommend here.

Our favorite swimwear for 0-24 months:

This swimsuit has UPF 50+ sun protected fabric. It comes in sizes 0-3 months to 3 years and has buttons on the bottom for quick changes.

This pink Hanna Andersson swimsuit and yellow Amazon swimsuit both have UPF 50+ sun protected fabric and zippers for easy changes (comes in sizes 0-3 months to 3 years).

This is a more budget friendly suit from Amazon that has UPF 50+ sun protected fabric and we love the bright orange color for standing out in the water (comes in sizes 0-3 months to 3 years).

This long sleeve rash guard top comes in bright colors and is a great add-on to swim bottom (comes in sizes 12-18 months to 5T).

These swim trunks have an adjustable waist and comes in sizes 3-6 months to 10 years.

Our favorite swimwear for toddlers and youth:

This one-piece has UV protection and the colors are made to last through chlorine exposure in the pool. It comes in sizes 18 months – youth size 12.

This bright colored tankini top and bottom comes in youth size 2-16!

We love that this suit has sleeves and it is UPF 50+ (comes in sizes 2T-  8 years).

This set provides great sun protection and comes in great bright colors (comes in sizes 2T – youth size 16).

This RuffleButts suit has an easy-on zipper and is UPF 50+. It comes in sizes 2T – 7 years.

These neon trunks are great for standing out in the water.

These RuggedButts swim trunks come in bright prints and have an adjustable waist (comes in sizes 2T – 7 years).
