why Natalie loves NozeBot as an allergy RN
SNOT and BOOGERS and ALLERGIES, OH MY!
Natalie shares why as a pediatric allergy nurse, she loves and recommends the NozeBot (use code BUMBLEBABY) to all her friends and patients. Read to learn more.
The Nozebot
Boogers, snot, and allergies are quite literally a daily topic of discussion in my life. As a pediatric allergy nurse and the mother of three young boys, there is not a day that goes by where we are not trying to figure out how to effectively get the yucky mucus out of a nose.
One of the most frustrating things for both parents and children is when the skill of blowing your nose has not yet been mastered, however the congestion is too much to bear and is impacting day to day activities. The NozeBot (use code BUMBLEBABY) has been a game changer!!
I remember when I was working in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) there was âwall suctionâ, also known as a hospital grade suction machine.
We could use this suction to clear mucus and saliva from the babiesâ mouths and noses. I often thought about how useful that would be at home when my boys were babies and have snotty, runny noses and colds.
Babies are obligate nose breathers until the age of one so if the nose is clogged, nursing and bottle feeding can become extremely difficult. The options I had at the time were a bulb syringe, which never created enough suction to remove the thick mucus from their noses, or a âsnot suckerâ which worked a little better but wasn’t the most pleasant device to use.
The NozeBot (use code BUMBLEBABY) developed by a pediatric ENT, is the home version of the wall suction that I had always wished for!!
This little device is extremely easy to use and SO effective. My boys love it and even suction their own noses! There are 3 different hospital grade suction levels to choose from so you can customize how strong you need the suction to be based on your child’s age and thickness of their mucus.
It is even safe to use on newborn babies! There are disposable filters to keep everything clean and prevent spreading of germs. Most of the parts can even go in the dishwasher! The NozeBot (use code BUMBLEBABY) also has a rechargeable battery meaning it is portable and available wherever you and your little ones are!
I have been recommending the NozeBot (use code BUMBLEBABY) to patients and friends who have young kiddos with environmental allergies too! A common practice is for allergists to prescribe saline rinses followed by a medicated nasal spray to manage the congestion associated with environmental allergies.
The major issue is with the younger patient population they aren’t able to effectively blow their nose. This means the saline rinse is not working to remove excess mucus before using the prescription nasal spray, making the prescription spray less effective.
HOWEVER, The NozeBot (use code BUMBLEBABY) would be a perfect solution to this problem and could increase the effectiveness and compliance of this regimen! The hospital grade suction helps to effectively clear the thick mucous to make the prescription allergy spray actually effective!
The NozeBot (use code BUMBLEBABY) is something that should be in every parentsâ home because it is a tool that will save you the headache of trying to relieve congestion when your little one isnât feeling well without the mastery of nose blowing, the frustration of an ineffective bulb syringe and the unappetizing use of a snot sucker.
The NozeBot (use code BUMBLEBABY) is my go-to baby shower gift because it is something that parents actually NEED and will be so thankful they have on hand before their babyâs first stuffy nose. I promise you will not regret trying the NozeBot (use code BUMBLEBABY))!!
