Lauren shares below why the NozeBot is her top gifted baby registry item and go-to for sick days with her little ones.

nozebot illness sick babyWant to know one of the hardest parts about having three kids?! For me, it’s the SICKNESS! I swear no matter the time of the year, how much we wash our hands, or how many vitamins we take, someone is constantly bringing germs home and getting everyone sick, it’s inevitable!

Once one of them starts with the sniffles, I know it’s just a matter of time before the virus/bacteria runs its course through all of us. The first thing I do once one of my kiddos is sick is reach for the NozeBot (discounted with this link) to make sure it’s charged and ready to go! It’s my most used “sick day essential” for all 3 of my kids- ages 7, 4 and 1. And that’s what’s so great about the NozeBot (discounted with this link), it’s not one of those baby registry items that you spend money on and then only use for the first few months-1 year. The NozeBot is great for newborns all the way up to older kids as well! It’s so easy to use that even my 4 and 7 year old can suction their own noses and they actually think it’s FUN! That’s a mom win for sure. Suctioning my 1 year old’s nose, well that’s a whole other story! I sometimes feel like I’m wrestling an alligator while trying to suction her nose. BUT thankfully, the NozeBot is so simple to use that I can get in quick, suction out those boogies and feel confident that even suctioning for a short amount of time is effective in helping clear her nasal passages.

So clearly we are all obsessed with the NozeBot because firstly, most of us are NICU nurses, and secondly, we all have kids who get sick! I cannot tell you how many times we have messaged each other about the the NozeBot saying how we don’t know how we have survived this long without it. It’s also been one of the most recommended items I tell my friends/family/clients to add to their baby registry. The NozeBot (discounted with that link) makes the perfect gift for a new parent, or one who is in the thick of it with germs/illnesses.

I have put together the perfect “sick day essentials” which would make a great gift for a new parent or to put together for your family to have on hand when those sniffles start to hit!

  1. The NozeBot
    • The NUMBER 1 item for my sick day essentials kit is, of course, the NozeBot! No explanation needed but if you need more convincing you can also check out more reasons why we love the NozeBot here and here. Learn more in our IG highlights, too!

  1. Saline Mist Inhaler
    • It is so important to loosen up those secretions before trying to suction them out! We prefer the saline mist as opposed to the spray as it is a little more gentle and babies/kids seem to tolerate it better in our opinion.
  2. Soothing chest rub
    • After suctioning out your kiddos nose, it can be helpful to use a soothing chest rub to help keep those nasal passages clear – especially before naps and bedtime!

  1. Infant and/or Children’s acetaminophen and ibuprofen
    • These are always good to have on hand in case of fevers or if your child is in pain or very uncomfortable.
      • ***Just a reminder that ibuprofen can only be used on infants older than 6 months of age. Check with your provider before starting any new medications.
  2. Vapor wipes
    • these wipes can be used on your child’s nose or chest and will help keep your their nose from getting too broken down from a runny nose. They are also really soothing so feel nice on irritated skin and can help keep their nasal passages clear!
  1. Thermometer

  1. Cool mist humidifier
    • It’s so important to keep your baby and child’s airway passages from getting too dry when they are sick. This helps keep the secretions from getting too sticky or hard.
  2. Baby Aquaphor and Roll-On Vaseline
    • We love this for so may different uses but one of the best is to help sooth sore/irritated noses.
  3. Warmie
    • My kids swear by this when they are sick! It’s a stuffed animal that can be warmed up in the microwave to help comfort your child. It’s also great to use as a heating pad for painful ear infections! Finn loves his, too!
